About Flor de Tango
Flor de Tango is an enchanting boutique tango festival that we organize with a deep love for tango, passion, and joy. It takes place in one of Zurich’s most beautiful dance halls, the historic Zunft zur Wiedikon, also known as Gasthof Falken. The venue is not only full of nostalgic charm and history, but also offers a wooden dance floor, excellent acoustics, and a lovely outdoor area that invites guests to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. Every year, approx. 150 dancers from all over Switzerland and abroad come together here to share their passion for tango. Because we love the personal connections and want to create the best possible experience for everyone, we keep the festival intentionally small. This allows you to connect easily with dancers, artists, DJs, organizers, and the team.
We are incredibly proud to welcome outstanding international artiststs at our festival. In 2027, we will have the great pleasure of hosting the amazing maestros Yanina Quiñones & Neri Piliu at our festival. They are among the most internationally recognized Argentine tango couples. Since 2005, they have captivated audiences worldwide with their elegance, passion, and virtuosity on the dance floor. On Sunday evening, we will have the great pleasure of welcoming the Orchestra Mafalda. Led by the renowned Argentine bandoneon player Fernando Maguna from Marseille, the orchestra will perform some of the most beautiful tangos live.
Our internationally renowned DJs will also be travelling to Zurich with plenty of vinyl in their luggage — goosebumps guaranteed! There is something truly special about the warm, authentic sound of vinyl that transports dancers to another era. We are beyond excited to welcome one of the most famous vinyl DJs, the Argentine Ignacio Cavalieri from Ibiza. The renowned DJane Andre Dan, who regularly performs at some of the world's most prestigious tango marathons and encuentros, will be joining us all the way from Italy. Oxana Kovalenko, known from Maracuentro Basel, will enchant us with her exquisite vinyl selection. Massimo Aliotta, one of our local heroes and a big lover of vinyl and tango, will take you on a journey that you won't forget.
It is very important for us that everyone feels welcome and can enjoy the event. The number of participants is limited. We will maintain a balanced ratio of followers and leaders. We suggest registering in pairs to ensure you can participate.
We can't wait to embrace you!
